Jim Hamilton - Executive Director/Treasurer E-mail Jim
Dr. Jim Hamilton is the Executive Director Treasurer of the Dakota Baptist Convention. He came to this role January 1, 2004 after pastorates in Alaska and Indiana. He has led the Dakotas to new and innovative ministries, strategy development, and a decentralized, regional structure of missionary personnel to more effectively serve the churches of the Dakota Baptist Convention.
Jim is an author, teacher, conference speaker, and certified coach. His passion is leadership and strategy development. Dr. Hamilton is a ministry coach for churches and leaders across the Southern Baptist Convention.
Hamilton received his undergraduate degree from Wayland Baptist University, his Masters degree from Trinity Theological Seminary, and his Doctor of Ministry degree from Bethany Theological Seminary.
Jim lives in Sioux Falls, SD with his wife Lisa. The Hamilton’s have five children and are recent empty-nesters. Jim enjoys spending time with his family, motorcycles, and outdoor activities.

Garvon Golden - Sharing Christ Strategist/SW Regional Missionary E-mail Garvon Garvon Golden has served in the Dakotas for 21 years. He presently serves as the Sharing Christ Team leader, Associate Executive Director, and Southwest Regional Missionary for the Dakota Baptist Convention. Garvon has served as a Pastor, Director of Missions, and is now with the State Convention. Garvon presently lives in Rapid City, SD with his wife Cindy. They have four adult children Anna, Thomas, Lydia and Sam and two grandchildren Payton and Garvon.. After coming to the State Convention, Garvon helped reinstitute a state wide evangelism conference. He has also played a role in developing a national intentional evangelism ministry for the Sturgis Bike Rally. This ministry has presented the gospel to nearly 10,000 people with over 2,500 individuals praying to receive Christ in the last three years. Presently, Garvon is leading the Dakota Baptist Convention through involvement in the National Evangelism initiative “God’s Plan for Sharing … every believer sharing … every person hearing” which will be a strategy that will encompass the next ten years. Garvon is a graduate of Texas A&M in Commerce, Texas and has a Master of Divinty Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.

Myron Grueneich - Strengthening Ministry Strategist/NW Regional Missionary E-mail Myron Myron Grueneich serves as the Strengthening Ministry Team leader (Leadership Development and Church Health), and NW Regional Missionary for the DBC.
He came to this ministry role in July, 2004 after career ministry as an Administrator of Trinity Christian School and the pastorate in Williston, ND. He has served in the areas of Strategic Coordinator, Office manager, LifeWay Director, Technical Services, and Strengthening Ministry Teal Leader and Regional Missionary.
Myron has a background in education, agriculture, and lay/pastoral ministry. He is trained and certified in Next Level components, Coaching, Pastoral and Church Consulting, and discipleship programs. He received a BS degree from North Dakota University in Agricultural Education and is a native of North Dakota.
Myron lives in Bismarck, ND with his wife, Kathy. The Grueneich’s have four grown (married) children; Summer (Jason), Kent (Charity), Blake (Josalyn), and Krysta (Ben).
Myron enjoys spending time with family, sports, yard work, computer and technology, and worship. He has a blog, http://hissheep.wordpress.com shared with many people relating 29 years of experience raising sheep to being a follower of Jesus Christ-God’s flock.

Buck Hill - Starting Churches Strategist/SE Regional Missionary E-mail BuckBuck Hill serves as the State Director of Missions, church planter team leader and southeast regional missionary. Buck came to South Dakota as a mission service corp volunteer in 1994 with Huron Baptist. During his time in South Dakota, Buck has pastored First Baptist Church in Wolsey, SD, served as Director of missions for Heartland Baptist Association, planted Fairview Baptist church in Aberdeen, and now serves in his present role. Buck and and his wife Pam are North American Mission Board appointed missionaries. Buck was born in Anderson, South Carolina and he and his wife Pam have two grown daughters - B.J. who lives in North Carolina, and Parker who serves as a IMB missionary with her husband in West Africa. Buck and Pam live outside Wolsey, SD, and are the proud grandparents of three grandchildren and one on the way.
Fred MacDonald - Sending Missionaries Strategist/NE Regional Missionary E-mail Fred
Dr. Fred MacDonald is the Sending Missionaries Team Leader and the Northeast Regional Missionary for the Dakota Baptist Convention. He began serving the Dakotas on March 1, 2009 after 25 years of pastoring in South Dakota, New Mexico, Texas, and Missouri. Over these years he led the people of these congregations to learn to share their faith and to pray for, provide for, and participate in missions.
Fred’s passions are writing and teaching. He has written numerous devotional books including “Lord, Teach Me to Pray for Sturgis,” which is used each year to help those that share Christ at the annual Sturgis Bike Rally get spiritually prepared for the event. He has also developed several training modules including, “Using Sunday School Classes as Ministry C.A.R.E. Units” and “Finding Peace without Going to Pieces,” a conference on dealing with conflict.
MacDonald received a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education from Northern State University in Aberdeen, his Master of Divinity from The Criswell College in Dallas, and his Doctor of Ministry from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis.
Fred lives in Devils Lake, ND with his wife Denise and two of their six children, Kendra and Isaiah. Each of their four older children is serving Christ in various capacities in Denver, Louisville, Seattle, and Rapid City. He enjoys time with his family and golfing (he’s not good at it . . . he just enjoys it).
Chris Barnes - Church Planting Missionary/Video & Tech Support Specialist E-mail Chris
Chris Barnes serves as a Church Planting Missionary for the Dakota Baptist Convention. He and his wife, Susan are missionaries with the North American Mission Board. Prior to arriving in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Chris served as the Church Planter Strategist for the Greenville Baptist Association in Greenville, South Carolina, a Strategy Leader/Missionary in the Middle East for the International Mission Board and as a youth minister in Indiana, Kentucky and South Carolina.
Chris also serves the convention as the video/tech support specialist, which includes shooting and editing videos, serving as the webmaster for DBC websites, and assisting with technology questions staff or churches may have.
Chris is a native of South Carolina, and Susan is from Arizona. They are both graduates of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with Master of Divinity degrees in Missions. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies and a Bachelor of Science degree in History from Southern Wesleyan University, and he holds an Associate of Arts degree from Anderson University (SC). Susan holds a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Math from the University of Arizona.
The Barnes have two young children, Matthew and Elizabeth. Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, including cheering for (along with Susan) his kids at soccer games and building models with Matthew.

Karen Johns joined the staff of the Dakota Baptist Convention in March of 2008 as their Office Manager. Prior to that she was employed for 10+ years at a real estate appraisal firm in Sioux Falls. She lives in Sioux Falls with her husband Rob, and they have 3 children and 7 (soon to be 8) grandchildren. Karen's favorite pastime is being with her grandchildren and second to that she enjoys quilting.
