Dr. Jim Hamilton is the Executive Director Treasurer of the Dakota Baptist Convention. He came to this role January 1, 2004 after pastorates in Alaska and Indiana. He has led the Dakotas to new and innovative ministries, strategy development, and a decentralized, regional structure of missionary personnel to more effectively serve the churches of the Dakota Baptist Convention.
Jim is an author, teacher, conference speaker, and certified coach. His passion is leadership and strategy development. Dr. Hamilton is a ministry coach for churches and leaders across the Southern Baptist Convention.
Hamilton received his undergraduate degree from Wayland Baptist University, his Masters degree from Trinity Theological Seminary, and his Doctor of Ministry degree from Bethany Theological Seminary.
Jim lives in Sioux Falls, SD with his wife Lisa. The Hamilton’s have five children and are recent empty-nesters. Jim enjoys spending time with his family, motorcycles, and outdoor activities.
