DBC Executive Director Travels To South Africa

DBC Executive Director Fred MacDonald made his fourteenth trip to South Africa last month. This trip marked a significant turning point in the eight-year partnership that he helped to establish while serving as a Director of Associational Missions in New Mexico.

This mission trip included discipleship training conferences with MacDonald’s South African partner, Dr. Julius Mbu, both in Pretoria, South Africa and Kampala, Uganda. Mbu is pastor of Hope Baptist Centre in Pretoria. While in South Africa, MacDonald was interviewed on Radio Pulpit, a local Christian radio station.

The highlight of the trip was the establishment and kickoff of a new training school for pastors. The school, called The TASK (TELL Africa School for Kingdom Growth), will provide a three-year training program for African pastors. A cohort of twelve pastors began the process last month. The training cycle will include training in personal development, practical ministry, and pastoral leadership. Each year of training will feature a one week in-person training followed by monthly Zoom meetings.
