John Witherspoon College Turns Building Over to Redeeming Grace, Donates Library to DBC
For the past several years, John Witherspoon College (JWC) has provided a classical Christian education in Rapid City, SD. Recently the school had to make the difficult decision to cease operation.
While the decision was a sad one, as the school closes its doors, a DBC church and the churches of the DBC will be blessed by the school.
Redeeming Grace Church, a church plant that has been meeting at the Journey Museum since its inception, assumed the lease for the building. The church, led by Pastor Josh Brown, had their first service in the facility on Sunday, July 28. The new facility gives them more space that is their own and puts them in a perfect location to reach out to the Robbinsdale area of Rapid City.
In addition to passing on the facility, JWC has donated its extensive library to the Dakota Baptist Convention. School president John Swann recognized the desire of Dakota Baptists to be able to equip pastors and planters. He said that the donation, “not only fulfills a Christian calling, but also forwards an education mission.”
For the time being, the library will remain at the Redeeming Grace facility.
