Nurses Visit the Dakotas
by Everett Hornbostel
A group of nurses from the Baptist Nursing Fellowship have been on mission in the Dakotas. They were working throughout the Standing Rock Reservation from July 21-26 visiting Cannon Ball, Kennel, McLaughlin, Little Eagle, and other communities. On Monday, July 22, they were at Cornerstone Community Church in Mobridge. The nurses provided screenings for vision, glucose and blood pressure. They also provided toothbrushes and toothpaste along with hand sanitizer and CPR education. There were games and prizes for children.
The Baptist Nursing Fellowship is an extension of the Woman’s Missonary Union (WMU) of the Southern Baptist Convention. Their mission is to empower, educate, and encourage nurses and medical workers to fulfill Christ’s Mission through healing skills.
